Bridal Photography Policy

Fort Fisher Bridal Photography Policy

Wedding ceremonies at Fort Fisher require a special use permit. Likewise, if you don't get married on the property but wish to have your group, bridal, or engagement pictures taken at Fort Fisher, two items are required:

  1. The photographer must purchase a commercial photography permit. The site offers two types--a daily permit for $25.00 or an annual permit for $100.00. We accept cash, check, or major credit card over the phone and the permit can be emailed. If paying by credit card, please call (910) 251-7340 and tell the staff person you want to pay for a daily or annual photo permit. The turnaround time for the permit is very quick once payment has been confirmed. The photographer is required to be in possession of the permit when on the property.

  2. The photoshoot must be scheduled in advance to ensure it does not conflict with any other reserved rental events (such as weddings, which take priority over all other events). Because most rental events take place on the weekend, please plan your bridal or engagement photoshoot for a weekday.

Important Parking Notice

Unless there is a 4-7 pm wedding ceremony, Fort Fisher's main parking lot gates are locked at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. If you wish to be on the grounds after 5:00 p.m., we recommend you consider parking at our Battle Acre parking lot (100 yards south of the museum on Battle Acre Road) which is open 24/7. If you have questions, please consult the site at (910) 251-7340 during business hours.
