Mickey Galyean & Cullen's Bridge

Meet the Band

Mickey Galyean

Mickey grew up playing music from rock n' roll to country gospel but his attention now focuses on traditional bluegrass. He possesses a rare and powerful voice, giving harmony singers the foundation on which to build super strong harmonies around him. Many may remember Mickey as the lead singer for the highly successful group Rich In Tradition. Also rare these days are traditional bluegrass rhythm guitar players. Mickey learned from the best and he lays it in there like it's supposed to be.

Brad Hiatt

Brad was also in the group Rich in Tradition with Mickey and came from a musical family as well. He can't remember a time when there weren't banjos, fiddles, guitars and mandolins around his house. Brad plays an old Kay bass that used to belong to Cousin Jake of the Foggy Mountain Boys--talk about tradition! Brad does most of the baritone singing, but also does some lead and tenor, and writes some mighty fine bluegrass songs as well.

Rick Pardue

Rick is in his 5th decade in bluegrass music. Over the years he has played with a number of groups: Roy McMillan, Sugarloaf Ramblers, Long & Pardue, and Carolina Road, just to mention a few. Rick plays banjo and does most of the tenor singing but like others in the band can switch to other parts when called upon. Rick was honored by the IBMA as author of the 2012 IBMA "Song of the Year".

Billy Hawks

Billy Hawks is from Dobson, NC and is no stranger in the world of bluegrass music. He started traveling at age fifteen, playing in a bluegrass gospel band. He then spent years competing in conventions across the country, winning the prestigious Galax bluegrass fiddle competition. Shortly after that, he joined Big Country Bluegrass, with which he traveled for over six years. After a short time off the road he toured all over the US and Canada with Junior Sisk and Ramblers Choice. While not on the road, he enjoys spending time with his wife, three daughters, and six grandchildren.
