Juneteenth at Stagville

Event Description

Celebrate and remember the 155th anniversary of Emancipation at Stagville. At Juneteenth, Stagville celebrates emancipation, and explores stories of the struggle for freedom in 1865. Join us in 2020 for storytelling, local history, and more.

What did freedom really mean for formerly enslaved people? How did freed people shape our modern communities? What freedoms did freed people continue to fight for? Learn about lives, culture, and labors of Stagville families through slavery and freedom. More details to come!

This is a free event.
