Highlighted History Day: Montgomery’s Campaign of 1760

In June of 1760, a British army under Col. Archibald Montgomery attempted to invade the Cherokee’s homeland.
Visitors will learn about life on campaign as experienced by men of the 77th Highland Regiment, as well as Carolina militia. Featured outdoor activities include scheduled musket firing demonstrations as well as a presentation about the campaign by Historic Interpreter Jason Melius.
While the programming will be outdoors, several guided tours of the fort will be offered on a limited basis though the day.
