It's that time of year again! Historic Bath will hold STEAM Saturday programs every Saturday from July 6th to August 17th! (There will not be a STEAM Saturday on July 20th, due to our Pirates in the Port Event.) This year we have some new activities planned, along with some of our old favorites, but with a new twist. As always, programs will be held at the Bonner Point/ House area. Programs are geared towards ages 6-12, but welcome to all. This year, there will be two big differences:
July 20, 2024, 10am - 3pm
Calling all sailors and seafarers! Chart your course for Historic Bath on Saturday, July 20th and discover the fascinating world of 18th-century sailors who worked the waterways of Eastern North Carolina.Visit the Tavern to hear the latest news and learn about the food and drink of the era. Talk with members of the Leviathan Crew at Bonner Point. Experience weapons demonstrations, hands-on activities, and don’t forget to visit the Exhibit Center for a fun scavenger hunt!

Come visit Duke Homestead and learn about the creatures typically found on a farm in the late-19th century!

This captivating program kicks off the Polk site's celebration of the events surrounding the America 250 commemoration in North Carolina.

Leah & the Rabbit returns to Vance Birthplace on Saturday, June 15 to celebrate Juneteenth! This puppet show weaves traditional Brer Rabbit stories with the history of Leah Erwin to celebrate resiliency and freedom.
June 8, 2024, 10am - 3pm
Come and experience history through arts, crafts, guided tours, and activities! This annual event will feature opportunities to learn about plantation life through historic trades and crafts, living history, hands-on activities with historic interpreters, and tours of the plantation. Historian Gary Riggs will discuss Civil War medicine by the reconstructed hospital. Enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides along the historic carriage drives. The Washington Underground Railroad Museum will be here again with their wonderful interactive presentation.

Join us for our last spring homeschool day on Wednesday, May 8th! This will be a free flow event and families will have the opportunity to explore the CSS Neuse II Replica on Heritage Street!

Celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Charlotte Hawkins Brown with music, activities, and food!

Commemorate Independence Day with the annual community reading of "What to the Slave is the Fourth of July" at the historic Horton Grove slave quarters.

Visit Stagville for Juneteenth to remember and celebrate emancipation at one of the state's largest plantations.
