Bennett Place will be commemorating the 158th anniversary of the largest surrender of the American Civil War with ongoing living history programs by the North State Rifles. The site will also have civilian living historians on site talking about the lives of the Bennett family. The site will also be hosting several talks throughout the day by local historians and fellow staff members on the Battle of Bentonville, the Occupation of Raleigh. Hours for the event will be from 10am-4pm.
Winter Weather
Feb. 4: Horne Creek Farm and Somerset Place are closed due to icy roads. Reed Gold Mine, James K. Polk, Vance Birthplace & Thomas Wolfe open at noon. All other sites open 9am-5 pm
