Learn about election & voting laws throughout the state's history & the difficulty many citizens had in casting their ballots. Also, ECU history professor Dr. Karin L Ziphf will discuss her book, Labor of innocents: Forced Apprenticeship in North Carolina: 1715-1919. Have a bit of fun playing historic games, sliding on an inflatable slide, & shopping at craft vendor booths. Peruse a vintage tractor display. There will be readings of the Declaration of Independence and cannon firings throughout the day. Enjoy delicious food from La Chule food truck
