Battlefield Illumination at Alamance Battleground

Image of Alamance Battleground historic site at night with several lit luminaries on the grounds

Join us at Alamance Battleground on the evening of May 14 for a special living history program and display visualizing the impact of the 1771 Battle of Alamance. We will be continuing the luminary display that began in 2020 and visualizes the Regulator and militia positions at the Battle of Alamance. These 300 luminaries also represents the number of people killed and wounded in the action. Living history volunteers will be at the site during the evening to share the individual stories of the men and women whose lives were affected by this battle, whether as Regulators or those who supported Governor Tryon's militia.
