Cornshucking Frolic - Horne Creek Farm

Horne Creek Farm State Historic Site and the North Carolina Living Historical Farm Committee are going to host a Cornshucking Frolic on Saturday, October the Eight. 

A traditional rural frolic featuring the harvesting, shucking, shelling and grinding of corn. Cider making, quilting, cooking, woodworking, making apple butter and molasses, and numerous craft demonstrations are just a few of the activities that will be held that day. Bring a lawn chair and sit back and listen to some great traditional, bluegrass, and gospel music by area groups. Cap the day off with chicken stew, fried pies, and apple cider. Wonderful products & gifts are available at our Country Store.

Music groups for the Cornshucking include: Travis Frye & Blue Mountain, Chords of Faith, Gap Civil, New River Line, Harrison Ridge

Admission fees are as follows: $8.00 per adult, $5.00 for children ages 6 – 12, and children 5 and under free. A fee is charged for food, drinks, and some craft activities.

No outside food or pets (other than service animals) are allowed.
