Reenactors fire muskets and a cannon outside at Alamance Battleground State Historic Site

Join us for our commemoration of the 251st anniversary of the Battle of Alamance fought May 16, 1771. Schedule is forthcoming, activities during the day will include living history demonstrations including musket and drill demonstrations, artillery, as well as 18th century cooking and medicine. "Patriots Day" ceremony led by Sons of the American Revolution will take place at 2 p.m. Our battlefield illumination program will also be held on Saturday evening, featuring living historians sharing the stories of real people involved in the battle.
