Halifax Resolves Day

-

Celebrate the 246th anniversary of the Halifax Resolves, the first official action by an entire colony recommending independence from Great Britain. The Historical Halifax Restoration Association will host their annual Halifax Day ceremony at 2 p.m. in the Visitor Center garden, featuring Secretary of Natural and Cultural Resources, Reid Wilson as keynote speaker.  The program is followed by a reception at the nearby Bradford-Denton House. The NC Society Sons of the American Revolution will host a wreath-laying ceremony at 10 a.m.  Other activities including guided and self-guided tours of the site's historic buildings will all combine for a fun-filled day of commemorations.
