Meet the Indigo Yard Gals artist team at Stagville's Great Barn for an open studio day. Drop in to help prepare a series of “ancestral blueprints,” an ongoing series of cyanotype fabric art pieces.
Drop by any time between 11am – 2pm to join the artists in developing cyanotype fabric prints inspired by Stagville's history and memory. Cyanotype is an early form of print made without a camera, using paper treated with iron salts and sunlight to create stunning blue and white prints.
The collective art created at this Open Studio will be used in a upcoming 2025 program at Stagville. You'll have a chance to create your own smaller cyanotype pieces on paper to take home.
