Medicine and Diseases in the Civil War

-

FREE ADMISSION DAY!

The Civil War devastated both sides with blood on the battlefield and disease. Of the approximately 620,000 soldiers who died in the war, two-thirds of these deaths were not the result of enemy fire but of a force more potent than any army of men: disease. Join Andy Bennett to learn about Civil War medicine, including field wounds, procedures, and diseases.

The Clara Barton: Angel of the Battlefield Traveling Exhibit will also be on display on the mezzanine.
