Come celebrate the beginning of the winter astronomy season and join us beneath one of the last great dark sky sites in central NC! The evening begins with our "What's Up!" presentation at 6pm. This program provides information about what to look for that night and a little of the folklore associated with it. Then, take in the darkening view at the village site - bring your telescope or binoculars to observe Saturn and Jupiter, the constellations Winter Maker and Tarus, and watch for satellites. Participants should dress for the weather and may wish to bring a red light to help them see in the darkness. Chairs and blankets welcome.
The cost is $5.00 per person, and preregistration is required. Register by calling or emailing Town Creek at 910-439-6802 or towncreek@dncr.nc.gov. Cash and Mastercard/Visa accepted at the gate on the day of.
