Do you like to shop with reusable Bags? Do you like to carry a lot of your groceries inside in one trip? Join Historic Interpreter Drew and make a historically documented linen wallet!
In the 18th century, wallets were a type of bag that was sewn closed on each end and left open in the middle. All a person had to do was fill it with goods and carry it over their shoulder like a saddlebag. If packed correctly, the load will balance itself out and is very comfortable to carry.
There will be two workshops, one on January 18th and the other on February 22. Workshops will start at 10 AM and wrap up at 3 PM. You don’t need to stay for the whole time. You don’t need to have any sewing skills for the workshop, you will learn everything you need! The cost of the workshop is $20, contact Drew at drew.neill@dncr.nc.gov to register. Limited to five participants per class.
The workshop is hosted by the Alamance Battleground Friends.
