This living history will give visitors a glimpse of what daily life was like for the garrison of Fort Dobbs through on-going displays of camp life, historic cooking, and scheduled musket firing demonstrations.

Saturday, 10am-4pm. $2 admission.

Military Timeline

Visit with soldiers and support personnel from hundreds of years of North Carolina history. The experiences of veterans of the Revolution, Civil War, World Wars and other conflicts will be shared through living history displays and weapons firing demonstrations.
$2 admission (children under 5 free. Veterans free with valid ID.)

Taken Shelter in Fort Dobbs

June 25, 2022, 6am - 12pm
In the spring of 1759, the Yadkin and Catawba River valleys were ravaged by fighting as parties of Cherokee took revenge for the murder of their loved ones by Virginians.
Many settlers fled, while others found shelter within the walls of Fort Dobbs. Though no full-time soldiers were present, the building still offered refuge.
This event will illustrate life at the fort as it was taken over by the civilians of the Fourth Creek Settlement.

Living history will be on-going from 10am-4pm.
Musket firing demonstrations will be offered at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm.

$2 admission. (Children under 5 free.)
