 WHAT’S FOR BREAKFAST?Porridge, gruel, mush, pottage, grits, polenta and hasty pudding, what are they and how are they different? Come visit the kitchen at Polk Birthplace where we will explore these dishes, their differences and similarities, talk about their history and make a couple to compare.  As usual, we can’t share the food but will be glad to answer any questions Receipts for the demo will come from the following books ; Suggested donation $5/adult, $2/seniors and children

Join us for a presentation with Catawba artists Teresa Dunlap and Aaron Baumgardner. This dynamic brother and sister duo will walk us through the craft, history and inspiration behind basket weaving and Catawba pottery including how these art forms have further connected them to their tribal elders.

Join us for a short, hour-long program to learn about leaders in Black History! We will do a show + share, and make a bulletin board of Black history figures.
