Patch-a-Palooza welcomes families with K-8th grade children to try their hands at various historic crafts from making butter and candles to writing with a quill pen. Learn about stratigraphy by modeling the soil layers at Town Creek. Over time, soil and artifacts layer on top of each other to form a timeline. Studying soil layers is one way that archaeologists can find out the age of an artifact. Gather around the fire and get in the spirit of Halloween with spooky stories from Appalachia and beyond. Join us on Saturday, March 22 for our Spring Storytime! Families with young children can enjoy Spring-themed picture book readings in the Vance house at 10am, 11am, 12pm, and 1pm.
