Join us for a day of Christmas cheer at the Vance Birthplace, featuring holiday fun for the whole family! Gather around the hearth for storytime featuring seasonal picture books. Plus, enjoy candle-dipping, hot cider, and cookies all day!
Homeschool students ages 6-12 will learn about traditional fiber crafts during this hourlong program at 10 a.m. Jan. 15. Cost is $5 per student. Register by calling the site at (704) 889-7145.
Historic interpreter Susie Worcester will demonstrate how to cook a colonial holiday meal. She will be in the kitchen cabin 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, for this free event.

Step back in time and experience an 18th century Christmas. Interpreters will portray members of the community who have gathered for a festive party during the holiday season among fresh greenery and candlelight. After the tour enjoy warm apple cider and cookies around the camp fire.
