Bentonville Battlefield Will Host Media Day March 13

 WHAT: Bentonville Battlefield 160th Reenactment Media Day

WHEN: Thursday, March 13, 10-11:30 a.m.

WHERE: Bentonville Battlefield State Historic Site (5466 Harper House Rd, Four Oaks, NC 27524) in the large tent behind the visitor center

Bentonville Battlefield State Historic Site will host a Media Day Thursday, March 13 at 10 a.m. prior to the site’s 160th anniversary reenactment. Event organizers and state officials will offer remarks about the significance of the anniversary and give an overview of the weekend’s activities. Several partner organizations will be present and available to talk to reporters about their role in the event. Other highlights include:

  • Ribbon-cutting for the newly restored Harper House, which served as a field hospital during the battle

  • Canon firing demonstration

  • Refreshments provided by Johnston County Visitors Bureau

All media attending the Bentonville Battlefield reenactment (March 15-16) must have pre-approved credentials from the North Carolina Department of Natural & Cultural Resources. Credentials may be picked up in advance on Media Day or at the information tent during the event. To register as a member of the media, please review the guidelines and complete the Battle of Bentonville Media Registration form.
