Plan Your Visit

The North Carolina State Capitol, completed in 1840, is one of the finest and best-preserved examples of a major civic building in the Greek Revival style of architecture. It is a National Historic Landmark.

 

Hours and Location

Monday - Friday 9a.m. - 5p.m.
Saturday 10a.m. - 5p.m.
Closed Sunday and most major holidays

Admission is free
Donations are appreciated

Tours

Walk-in tours of the building are self-guided. See below for information on scheduling a guided tour. 

 

The Capitol is now accepting group tour reservations for Spring/Summer 2022

Spring Schedule

April 5 - June 10, 2022

Guided tours are offered Tuesday-Friday at 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 1:00, 1:30, 2:00, 2:30

Summer Schedule

June 14- August 31, 2022

Guided tours are offered Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:00, 10:30, 1:00 and 1:30

 

These tours may be scheduled for a minimum of 10 people and a maximum of 25 people—this includes chaperones.
