Witness how Soldiers and Civilians try to keep there spirits up during four years of war. On going living history will be happening around the farm, Also Santa will be in the Parlor of the Bennett house to meet and greet visitors, and you can tell him what you want for Christmas.

Learn about the holiday traditions of early 19th century North Carolina. Experience holiday cooking over an open hearth and taste fresh gingerbread. Make historic ornaments, decorate a tree, play games, and drink cider by the bonfire.

At 5pm, come back and enjoy the Christmas tradition of stories around the bonfire. Bring your own s’mores and hot chocolate and enjoy an evening under the stars.

Logan, a former Union officer on staff with Major General William T. Sherman, was instrumental in making this a formal national day honoring our fallen soldiers, which became Memorial Day. Join military living historians representing the American soldier of all time periods throughout our nation’s history.
