Visit the Hauser Farmhouse, all decked out for Christmas in period decorations. Shop for unique and beautiful presents in our gift shop and enjoy some festive cheer with hot chocolate and cookies. 11:00 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Join Horne Creek Farm for our annual Cornshucking Frolic on Saturday, October 18th from 10 am - 5pm. The day will highlight history, heritage crafts, music, and fun!

The event is sponsored and organized by the North Carolina Living Historical Farm Committee, Inc.

Come out to the farm and learn about Horne Creek's Gulf Coast Native Sheep. Then, watch as staff and volunteers shear some of our wooly friends for the spring.

Shearing will take place two times on the 26th: 10:00 am - 11:45 am and 1:15 pm - 2:45 pm.

Come out and learn how to graft an apple tree. Jason Bowen, Horne Creek Farm’s horticulturist, will be on hand to share his knowledge of southern apple varieties and conduct a grafting seminar. Jason will lead you through the process of splicing dormant scion wood and root stocks.

Visit Horne Creek Farm on Saturday, March 22nd to purchase some heirloom apple trees grafted from our orchard for planting around the home or farm. We will have numerous varieties to choose from and you are sure to find one that would work for you.

Tom Brown will discuss his search for Heritage Apples focusing on varieties he gave our orchard. Tom Brown is a renowned apple hunter and orchardist. He has spent many years discovering "lost" heirloom apple varietals in North Carolina and throughout Appalachia.
