Horne Creek will hold its “Heirloom Apple Tree Sale” beginning Saturday, September 7, and continuing until all the trees are sold out. The sale will be held at the back of the Horne Creek Visitor Center from 9 am - 4 pm each day, Tuesday - Saturday. The trees will be $24 each. All proceeds from the sale of the apple trees will be used specifically for the benefit of the Southern Heritage Apple Orchard. Featuring a nice selection of grafted heritage trees from the Southern Heritage Apple Orchard. Limit of 10 trees per family. .

Come out and learn how to graft an apple tree. Jason Bowen, Horne Creek Farm’s horticulturist, will be on hand to share his knowledge of southern apple varieties and conduct a grafting seminar. Jason will lead you through the process of splicing dormant scion wood and root stocks. At the end of the day all participants will take their newly grafted heirloom apple tree home with them.Class size is limited to 20. Participants must be 16 or older.Time: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Fee: $50.00.Pre-registration is required. Call 336-325-2298 to enroll.

During our Spring Sale, Horne Creek's Southern Heritage Apple Orchard will have plenty of apple varieties to choose from -- Blacktwig, Virginia Beauty, Arkansas Black, Grimes Golden, and Wolf River are just a few available to purchase. Jason Bowen, the site’s horticulturist, will be on-site to provide information about what varieties are good for cooking, making apple butter, or cider. The site will also be selling heirloom peach trees (Indian Cling), all peach trees will be sold bare-root.

Horne Creek's Christmas by Lamplight offers an evening filled with the warmth and beauty of a rural turn-of-the-century farmhouse. Take a few hours away to reflect on the holiday season. You’ll enjoy caroling, a craft project, and readings from the period. Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served. Our special program makes heartwarming holiday memories with your friends and family. One must purchase tickets in advance. This is not a program recommended for children under 11 years of age. Spaces are limited, don’t miss out on this popular evening.
