Join us for a day of Christmas cheer at the Vance Birthplace, featuring holiday fun for the whole family! Gather around the hearth for storytime featuring seasonal picture books. Plus, enjoy candle-dipping, hot cider, and cookies all day! Drop in anytime, but readings will take place in the Vance house kitchen at 10:00, 11:30, and 1:00. Explore, enjoy, and experience the Christmas season at Somerset Place for the 34th Annual Christmas Open House on Sunday, December 1st, from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. This year's Christmas Open House will be held in honor of former site employee Tad Howington.Be inspired by traditional holiday decorations of fresh natural and floral arrangements adorning the exterior and interior of site buildings. Explore the plantation on a self-guided tour with staff members and volunteers available to answer questions.
