Time: 30 minutes
- ½-inch diameter dowels or sticks
- table salt
- balls or wool
- paring knives and carving tools
First peel and core the apple. Use the carving tool to carve facial features on the apple: eyes, nose, mouth and ears. Place the dowel/stick into the bottom of the core and pack with cotton balls or wool. Pour salt into the core, then pack the top with another cotton ball. When the apple dries it will shrink up and turn brown, resembling the face of an old woman.
