Apples on a String
Time: 15 - 20 minutes
Materials:
- string
- a long large-eyed needle
- scissors
- apples
- clothesline
Procedure:
Use the needle to push a 3-foot length of string through the center of each apple from end to end. Tie the string around the apple. Tie the other end of the string to the clothesline.
Line the children up along the clothesline, one child for each apple. They must keep their hands behind their backs. At the signal each child tries to catch an apple in their mouth and take a bite. The first child to do so is the winner. Cut the strings from the clothesline and give each child an apple on a string to eat.
