Commemorate Independence Day with a community reading of Frederick Douglass' famous speech, "What to the Slave is the Fourth of July," at Horton Grove.
The Nasher Museum and Historic Stagville co-present an afternoon of tours for all ages, inspired by the exhibition Spirit in the Land. At 2 pm, Vivette Jeffries Logan and Justin Robinson will lead a commemorative and ecological guided walk at Horton Grove.

This FREE program will be held Friday, December 8th from 4pm-7pm, and allows for self guided exploration and meditation. Our visitor center and gift shop will remain open during the course of the evening to also allow a chance for a little holiday shopping.
The Mountain History & Culture Group presents an annual lecture that explores the history and culture of western North Carolina. This year's speaker, Dr. Luke Manget, will discuss the economic and environmental impact of root digging and herb gathering in Appalachia.
